Peter George was a miracle kid even as a puppy, as he was the only pup that survived his litter. All his litter mates died at infancy. His dam was soon after sold by the breeder; though it still remains a mystery whether the breeder was lying all the way.  Fearing for the only pup's life, Ingrid Birch's family decided to adopt him at the tender age of 1 month & give him all the loving care & medical attention he'd never receive if he were still with the breeder and would have succumbed to the same fate as his litter mates. Despite his new human family's inexperience with German Shepherds, he was well cared with help from vets & other professionals. Soon he became the family's darling & grew up to be his humans' sole reason to live. He was the ray of hope that helped his human family through their years of darkness & misery. With absolutely no training of any kind whatsoever, he took up his job as his ill human sister's therapist, as the family's only 'son', as his human mother's comfort & as the family's protector.  He was living the life that God wanted him to, as the last straw of hope for the troubled family.  He embodied the true 'Shepherd' spirit - that of a loving family pet, a fiercely loyal  protector, an intelligent, confident & courageous dog. He was a complete GSD package with added curiosity & comic demeanor whenever it was needed. He died at the age of 9.5 yrs having lived a momentous life that fulfilled all his duties to perfection. He was not 'just a dog' for his family & for thousands of other people whose hearts he touched. He was a 'star' wherever he went & was instrumental in educating a lot of people about animals in general. Even the toughest of dog haters melted before his charm & sense of duty. He now lives forever in the hearts of all who admired and loved him.
